When something has already gone wrong

Emergency work is a different job from maintenance. The objective is not a perfect long-term repair — it is stopping the damage, restoring what has to function, and doing it without creating a second problem in the rush.

So the sequence matters. Make it safe, stop the escape or isolate the fault, then diagnose properly, then repair. Jumping straight to repair is how a burst pipe becomes a burst pipe plus a damaged floor.

What we treat as an emergency

  • Burst pipes and active leaks — anything where water is escaping now.
  • Total AC failure in summer, which in Dubai is a habitability issue rather than a comfort one.
  • Loss of power to essential circuits, or a board that will not stay on.
  • Burning smells or scorching at outlets, switches or the distribution board.
  • Blocked drains causing overflow into the property.
  • Water heater failure where the tank is leaking rather than simply not heating.
  • Security failures — a door or lock that leaves the property insecure.

What to do before we arrive

Water

Close the main stopcock. Switch off electricity to any area where water is spreading near sockets or appliances. Move what you can out of the path. Worth knowing where your stopcock is before you need it — under the kitchen sink or in the utility cupboard in most apartments, near the tank or entrance in most villas.

Electrical

Switch off the affected circuit at the board and leave it off. Repeatedly resetting a breaker that keeps tripping removes the protection that is currently doing its job. If there is a burning smell, isolate and do not reset at all.

Air conditioning

Switch the unit off rather than leaving it running. A system that has failed but is still being driven — a seized fan, a frozen coil, a compressor labouring — frequently sustains further damage in the hours before someone arrives, turning a repair into a replacement.

How emergency pricing works

A call-out charge covers attendance and diagnosis. The repair is quoted separately once we know what has actually failed, and you approve that cost before anything is fitted. Nothing gets done on the assumption that you will agree to it afterwards because the situation is urgent.

Emergency attendance costs more than a booked visit, because it displaces scheduled work. That is worth being direct about rather than discovering on the invoice.

Why choose us in an emergency

For a straight answer on timing

We will tell you realistically when we can be there — including when the honest answer is that you should call someone closer. A promise nobody can keep helps nobody at two in the morning.

For containment before repair

Stopping the damage comes first. A properly isolated leak at midnight and a proper repair the next morning beats a rushed repair that fails again by breakfast.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Anything causing active damage or making the property genuinely unusable: water escaping, total loss of cooling in summer, loss of power to essential circuits, a burning smell from electrics, or a security failure like a door that will not lock. A dripping tap or a light that has stopped working is urgent to fix but it is not an emergency, and treating it as one costs you more than booking it normally.

No. Emergency call-out is available whether or not you hold an annual contract. Contract holders get priority in the queue when several jobs come in at once, but nobody is turned away for not having one.

For water, close the main stopcock and switch off electricity to any area where water is near sockets or fittings. For electrical faults, switch off the affected circuit at the board rather than resetting it repeatedly. For AC failure, switch the unit off — running a failed system frequently converts a repairable fault into a replacement. Then move anything valuable out of the way.

Usually, for common failures — our vans carry the parts that fail most often. Where a specific or unusual component is needed, we make the situation safe and contained first, then return with the part. We will tell you which of those two you are looking at while we are still there, not afterwards.

A call-out charge covers attendance and diagnosis, and the repair is quoted separately once we know what is wrong. You approve the repair cost before any work starts. Emergency attendance costs more than a scheduled visit because it displaces booked work, and we would rather state that plainly than bury it.

It depends on the time, the day and how many jobs are already running — which is why we would rather give you a realistic window when you call than promise a fixed number of minutes to everybody. What we will do is tell you honestly whether we can help soon or whether you would be better served calling someone else.
